Portraits of Quaid-i-Azam on display

LAHORE:Alhamra Arts Council organised different programmes on the occasion of birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam. Alhamra held a seminar and an exhibition. The exhibition featured portraits of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam painted by noted artists Prof Saeed Akhtar, Colin David, Mehmood Butt, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi along with others to honour the 144th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at Alhamra Art Gallery here on Wednesday.

Secretary Information Raja Jahangir Anwar was the chief guest of the event. Raja Jahangir Anwar appreciated and congratulated Lahore Art Council Executive Director Ather Ali Khan on holding the programme.He said the principals of unity, faith and discipline stressed by Quaid-e-Azam should be followed in every field of life. Social Security Commissioner Tenvir Iqbal also attended the ceremony.

LAC Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said, “We wanted to celebrate and pay tribute to our Quaid in a different way, so we arranged this exhibition. The exhibition and seminar are just a reminder for all of us to reawaken the ethics of brotherhood, patience, tolerance and unity, which is the actual massage of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.”

Meanwhile, in the 40th sitting of Gosha-e-Gayan, noted scholar Dr Tariq Shareef Zada expressed his thoughts and views on Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.He quoted the Quaid as saying, “You have to stand guard over the development and maintenance of Islamic democracy, Islamic social justice and equality of manhood in your native soil.”

He said, “We all must play a vital role in the development of this country so that we can fulfill our commitment to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.” A large number of people from different walks of life attended the exhibition and seminar.
